At this site, you can do a search for your name (last name) and see what the frequency per million inhabitants is throughout the world. Here's the link. I did a search for my last name and found that there are more people per million with my last name in Australia than anywhere else. That surprised me, definitely. More so than Scotland, which is where the name originated, I think.
